They can’t chase you if you don’t run!

Karstyn and Macauley ~ love it...

Have you ever asked your kids to stop running? I remember seeing my sons run through the house like their hair was on fire, one chasing the other.   Sometimes I would intervene and ask, “Why are you running?” The youngest would say, He is chasing me.” Obviously, he did something to aggravate his oldest brother and was trying to avoid the pain of a retaliatory beat-down.

Avoiding pain or “fear” is a human instinct. In the world of business that pain often comes from hearing the word “NO” when asking for a sale or perhaps even a promotion.   What would happen if we had zero fear of the word “NO” and we even learned to embrace it?

I am currently reading and recommend a book called Go For No* that an auto dealer friend of mine gave me. *Book by Andrea Waltz and Richard Fenton

Henry Ford once said, “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.”

I write this quick note of encouragement to simply say, “Stop running from the fear of failure.” Embrace the bumps in the road. Don’t let fear keep you from learning….Like I said 12 years ago, son, he can’t chase you if you don’t run.”
